The birth preparation course is a two day (weekend course) conducted every month or two throughout the year. Women who attend the course have an improved birth outcome, less medical intervention and reduced hospital stays, therefore most private health insurers will give full or partial rebates for the course. The course is held on the Gold Coast, at the John Flynn Hospital, and meals are included. The course covers all you will need to achieve the best birth for you and your baby. Evidence clearly shows that women who prepare for the birth of their baby have safer and more satisfying births. This course is evidence based and works extremely well. For example, women who attend the course have a 50% reduction in the need for a cesarean section and a 30% reduction in the need for other medical interventions. This reduction in intervention has the further effect of increasing satisfaction with the birth experience, helping with baby bonding and it also reduces the chance of postnatal depression.

The instructor, Dr. Christine Vose, is an expert in childbirth with over twenty years experience in preparing women for birth. Her clients give birth with confidence as they are well prepared, free of fear and therefore have better birth outcomes.
